Program

Day 1: Your retreat begins the day you arrive at the venue. We will start with a welcome circle, followed by one-on-one facilitation meetings where you will clarify your intentions and confirm the dose for your first psilocybin mushrooms (or truffles) experience. The evening culminates in a group sound meditation experience.

Day 2: After morning practice and detailed instructions, you will participate in your first psychedelic ceremony using psilocybin mushrooms (or truffles). You will be fully prepared and made comfortable in a setting optimized for your needs, allowing you to make the most of your psychedelic experience.

Day 3: You will spend time integrating your first psychedelic experience while simultaneously preparing for your next one. The schedule includes group practices, integration workshops, and one-on-one meetings with an experienced facilitator.

Day 4: After morning practice and a guided workshop, you will experience your second psychedelic ceremony.

Day 5: The retreat's final day centers on integration. You will participate in one-on-one and group integration sessions to begin processing your experience which will help support and enable you to integrate it more fully into your life.

Deep and rich educational experience
The synthesis learning will stay with me as a guide and resource centre for a long time to come, perhaps or even probably lifelong. The assignments were practical and thoughtful in the way they built on each module of learning. I found the curriculum, with its monthly focus on each area of psychedelic facilitation practice through each of the four lenses, provided me with an enjoyable and reliable cadence. The content was so rich and diverse, generously delivered by such different wise, experienced people, and considerate of many different perspectives that I felt it was expanding not only my understanding but also my toolbox of things to use straight away as well as learn more about. As the year progressed I felt more confident in describing my place in this field, where I have come from, where I may be headed and how my world today integrates with that. There was no pressure to perform or know, in fact the invitation was to remain as long as I wanted to be in liminality for all that could be learned and experienced there. I feel I have worked alongside and become more part of a network of professionals who care about what is most important - safety, ethics, keeping the dialogue open and reciprocity, amongst other things. It really has been a wonderful learning experience, which has expanded my repertoire and skills. Thank you

Immersion Training Retreat
I was part of the Synthesis Immersion Training Retreat as part of my co-facilitator training April 26 - May 3 at the New Eden Retreat Center. Lesley, Hanneke and Léla were the guides. I consider myself extremely privileged to have been an active witness as well as participant. Lesley embodies what she teaches. Her knowledge, experience and skills were displayed in so many wonderful ways. Her calm and grounded ways and her gentle approach create an incredible sense of trust. Lesley reminds me of a light tower, firmly grounded, calmly sending its light to the ships to help them nagivate challenging waters. Thank you Lesley, I learned so much.

Synthesis Immersion Training Retreat
I participated in the Synthesis Immersion Training Retreat, April 26 - May 3. Hanneke was part of the team with Lesley and Léla. What a wonderful experience! Hanneke's lively ways, her authentic and honest approach, her masterful ways of dealing with a challenging situation, will always be remembered. Hanneke also lead the 1:1 interviews with me. I very much appreciated her direct approach, her way of challenging my thinking and assumptions, and her support with a special request. Hanneke's 'make a deal and stick to it' and 'sometimes you are water and sometimes you are a rock' will stay with me. I am grateful for everything.

Immersion Training Retreat
I took part in the Immersion Training Retreat as a co-facilitator in training and as a participant https://www.synthesisinstitute.com/immersion-training-retreat. It was an outstanding experience. The three guides Lesley Joy Quilty, Hanneke Shots and Léla Mosemghvdlishvili were outstanding. They truly embody and represent want I wish to be someday. I consider myself blessed and priviliged to have been an active witness as they held space and dealt with challenging situations. The variety of workshops, exercises and rituals added to the wealth of knowledge and experience I was allowed to get. - Thank you Synthesis, thank you Lesley, Hanneke and Léla. - The New Eden Retreat Center is a wonderful and very practical location for this retreat, a great setting.

Skilfully facilitated, safe, transformative, and playful.
This was my 2nd retreat with Synthesis. I have been working with psychedelics/plant medicines in intentional settings for around 4 years, and recreationally for around 15 years. I would recommend Synthesis retreats for anyone new to psychedelics, as well as more experienced journeyers who are curious to explore their relationship with medicine in a different than might be found in underground or indigenous contexts. The facilitation team are highly skilled, holding perhaps the safest container I have experienced on a retreat. They're also loving, warm, down to earth people who are just as committed to connecting with the group as they are facilitating the journey itself. The retreat centre is so cosy, and situated in the middle of woodland. It's a very soothing place to be, and the food is the best I've ever had on any retreat (genuinely mind blowing!!!). One of the most valuable aspects of the retreat was how well rounded and diverse the shared palette of skills, practices, experience and worldviews of our facilitators was. Between them, we had the support, perspective, and holding of a psychotherapist with specialist training in psychedelic work; a practitioner with direct and ongoing training in indigenous medicine traditions; and a third practitioner with a foundation in a range of meditative practices, in academia relevant to this work, and having extensive personal experience with various medicines. This range informed a deep and rich preparation, journeying, and integration, offering us many ways of relating to our experiences beyond just the word. Thanks to this approach I have been able to explore my subjective as well as and the group dynamic, through movement, sound, meditation, breathwork, creative expression, and of course psychedelics. I'm a student with The Synthesis Institute and I have now journeyed as a participant, as well as in an apprenticing role. I highly recommend Synthesis retreats for anyone curious to explore intentionally with psychedelics in a safe environment, guided by experienced, caring, and skilled practitioners. And I highly recommend their training to any aspiring practitioners - I have found it to be thorough, inspiring, and very nurturing to my journey along this path.

Comprehensive Full Package
The Immersion program by The Synthesis Institute is a comprehensive program encompassing a multi-day stay in a very quiet and peaceful place with lots of options to realx and become grounded. The food is very tasty and healthy (thank you Tara!), but most importantly the staff and the program are really sophisticated and helped me in my healing process. The program was designed by the most leading academic institutions but also traditional elemts haven been implemented. Highly recommended if you want to dive deep into your inner self and find healing.

Receiving the space to come into my fullness
Synthesis Immersion retreat was nothing but exceptional. The attention to detail and scheduling gave enough structure and freedom to move freely with the insights that were offered through the multiple ceremonies. Each facilitator brought such a unique strength and presence to the space and everything was orchestrated in perfect harmony. Having music be the main guiding force during the ceremonies was breathtaking and it provided so much wealth and allowance to navigate the energies moving throughout not only the ceremony room but throughout the New Eden space and through each participant and facilitator. I went into this experience with no expectations and with the intention to learn more about how to be more of service moving forward and I received so much teaching, guidance and support by everyone involved. What a state of the art experience and I will truly cherish it for forever.

It can't get better than this
I spent a week at a psychedelic retreat in Costa Rica, and it was pure paradise. Every day we swam in clear waterfalls and walked through lush green jungle. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us with real care and respect. The guides were skilled and kind, making every ceremony feel safe and meaningful. Most of all, the other guests felt like instant friends. Beautiful nature, great people, tasty meals—this retreat gave me healing and happiness. It really couldn’t have been better.

Five Stars: well supported
The surrounding jungle, wildlife and waterfalls were powerful support for me throughout the week. Our facilitators were mindful, gifted with wisdom and music so personal that the experience felt orchestrated for my best interest. I experienced an intentional layering of preparation that felt like being surrounded by goodness. The food was outstanding. The accommodations a bit rustic but clean and very close to nature. I hope I can return to this space in my mind for the rest of my life.

'Exceptional' does not adequately describe my experience
From my first interaction over Zoom, Synthesis gave me much more than I ever expected. This is a 6-week retreat. The Integrative Zoom sessions before and after the 5-day in-person experience are important and powerful. I did not expect that this entire retreat was so deeply inclined towards meditation and a spiritual journey. There was much power and transformation that occurred even outside the 2 'Ceremonies'. As well, the facilitators gave care and respect for my personal journey. Helping me, but always allowing me to find my own path. If you are undecided if the Medicine is right for you, I very much recommend that you reach out and have a discussion with Synthesis. Come with an open mind and leave with an expanded Heart :)

Immersion Apprenticeship Retreat
This summer, I had the privilege of attending the immersion retreat from Synthesis in the Netherlands as an apprentice. It was a profoundly beautiful and insightful experience that provided invaluable lessons for my future practice as a psychedelic practitioner. Amazing experience, people and team!
As a complete novice to entheogens/psychedelics it was amazing to see how the retreat catered to those of all levels, helping a rookie like me feel very safe & secure while still keeping those with more experience really engaged! They do a great job of curating groups of awesome people, while our group was very diverse there was no drama or issues.

Fantastic!!!
I attended the Synthesis Immersion Retreat as both a student and a participant. The facilitators were top notch in every way: highly experienced in indigenous and western medicine traditions, live music as well as playlists, breath work, compassionate caretakers, deeply present to each of us. Their teaching was clear and relevant. I learned so much about facilitating medicine journeys, and I also dived deep into my own journeys. In addition, the location is gorgeous. My only complaint is that the tents were so hot during the day (nights were fine), even though they were air conditioned, that you really couldn't hang out in there. But no problem because there are lots of beautiful spaces to hang out by yourself or with others. The waterfalls are fantastic, and fun getaways from the "work." Food was amazing, and the chefs were so friendly and always committed to meeting any special dietary needs. I highly recommend this retreat.

An outstanding experience - highly recommend - I would love to attend one again
The retreat was an outstanding experience, not just for the psilocybin ceremonies but for the community, breathwork, and meditation that made it so much more than that. Exceptional facilitators: a magnificent retreat experience of togetherness, growth, and profound inspiration
Exceptional. Marvelous. Even though I didn’t know the majority of the megapode facilitators before the retreat, I felt almost immediately at home with them. They proved an enormous resource throughout the retreat. Their teamwork was a remarkable model for me going forward as well. I felt supported, held, and given space to grow in my own way. Magnificent! The experience of being TOGETHER was even more mind-blowing than I’d expected. I already knew that this was an extraordinary group of people — but I had no idea of the extent to which that was true until we were physically together in one place. The openness, attentiveness, attunement, intelligence. and gentleness of the staff was extraordinary. On how the Immersion informed one’s personal practice: “I feel an even greater draw than usual to slow down, spend time in nature, and give myself space to breathe. The conversations I had with both fellow participants and staff will be influencing my personal practice and my outlook on life for a long while. The experiences of the retreat went very deep indeed. Everyone was super-helpful, respectful, and friendly. Couldn’t ask for better.

Synthesis embodyies the commitment to wholeness
I would emphasise how the different lenses all worked to inform each other and therefore made the overall offering richer. I would also talk about how Synthesis has consistently promoted the value of "walking the walk", so not just lip-service, but the actual lived embodied commitment to our own wholeness; only then can we be taken seriously to facilitate someone else's journey towards wholeness.

Exceptional care, communitas, and profound personal growth - a life-changing retreat
It’s difficult to know quite where to start in describing how these days exceeded all my expectations. I have never been looked after as well on all levels. Like staying with your favourite grandmother with benefits. From the minute we arrived, I left welcomed, safe, held. The walk from taxi to room - guided and handed over between Synthesis staff.. I learnt so much about myself, to witness how to hold space in the most gentle and exquisite way, about the real meaning of communitas that has affected me at a cellular level and will stay with me forever. To experience such love and kinship - such understanding. I left forever changed. Forever grateful. Quite an exceptional group of people who clearly had incredible passion for the work. Staff almost floated at times. The way they held space, cared with lightness and compassion for those journeying and afterwards. The acts of kindness. For each and everyone of you. Thank you - including the amazing chefs and people who did our laundry.

Diverse lessons, brilliant facilitators, and transformative support
This training provided diverse and thorough lessons with excellent facilitators. The four lenses were beautifully blended within each track, one supporting the other. The amount of information seemed too much at time, yet it all worked, especially when there was enough time for pod meetings. The faculty is brilliant! The support (again, Courtney is the bomb) team were so helpful, especially with details around practicum and Immersion. And I cannot say enough about the learning mentors and the capacity they had to hold each pod member with such respect and care. I know more about myself as a practitioner because we all, as a larger cohort, supported each other and will continue to support each other through Immersion in The Netherlands. Thank you Synthesis. This was an amazing Journey - like the ceremony: it showed me what I needed and connected me with myself and others.

A Transformative Journey to Restore the Sacred and Create a More Beautiful World
How do we create a more beautiful world for our children? How do we restore the sacred that has been lost from our lives? How do we live lives of compassionate, loving kindness, grounded in our bodies, in traditions but also in all the precious knowledge that science offers? How do we live our lives as fully expressed individuals, while also being vital contributors to the societal networks? I went in to the psychedelic training with all these questions- and not only was I taught precious lessons but most importantly, I was SHOWN. That a more beautiful world IS possible, that the sacred CAN be restored. That we can have difficult, challenging experiences, and still be held in calm, loving, kindness. What the people at Synthesis have created is the most profound, exquisitely beautiful experience of my life, that has opened up hope and unlimited possibilities for me and my family.

Impeccable facilitators create a safe space for profound growth and connection with nature
Wow. That's what I've been saying to myself since returning home. The Immersion was beyond anything I could have imagined, and my feelings are exclusive from the actual journeys themselves. The impeccability of each team member, the way they all held the same nurturing space for us, and the way they made each of us feel safety in the unknown was like a beautiful rhythm. I feel like I learned so much from watching them. It was like watching a beautiful dance. The care that was put into this immersion so we could each have such a beautiful experience moves me to tears. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. <3 I'm finding hard to put into words the way these beautiful souls held space for us. Almost immediately, a safe space was established, which allowed all of us to open up to a truly vulnerable state prior to our ceremonies. There was no favoritism, and I don't feel anyone felt neglected in any way. I know I didn't. We all had the same opportunities to be heard and to be supported. I don't know what the other pods were like, but I felt truly held by mine. I LOVED the nature walks (both facilitated and on my own). The venue was such a lovely place to explore. I especially loved the "Integration through Nature'' sessions after our large journey. When we were asked to bring back a piece of nature to the group, I found myself taking in and really 'seeing' nature from a different lens. I saw the living, breathing organism that nature is. I 'saw' the mycelium as the lifeblood feeding the forest. I saw the leaves on the trees as solar panels. I saw the dead, decay, and fungi themselves as the lymphatic system, carrying away the old to make room for the new. Always re-birthing. Always continuing on. Such a metaphor. As much time as I've spent in nature in my life, I was surprised that I now see it in such a different light. My relationship with Mother Earth is forever changed. I loved the opportunities to work with members of the other two pods that were with us. I loved the role-playing we did with each other, and the way it sparked conversation. Whoa. Who knew that the 'witnessing' would end up being a peak experience for me? Unbelievable. What an absolute honor and privilege to be able to see this unfold. I took my journal with me on the day I was a witness, thinking I'd have plenty of time to jot down some thoughts or insights. I never once opened my journal. I was just GLUED to this beautiful experience. As I watched my fellow classmates have their own experiences, I feel like I saw each of them in another light. A divine light. It was almost as if I had the privilege of watching someone leave this world through the death process, only to then watch them again re-birth themselves. Just like a miracle.

A transformative pivot point in self-relationship and professional development within a beautiful, authentic container of care and communitas
Your thought, planning and care that went into the holding space for every individual and creation of communitas was very evident. It created a beautiful container making it easy to safely sink into authenticity. It feels clear that this is a deeply shared value and the Synthesis team that I interacted with seek to live into this themselves. I feel incredibly fortunate to be within the first Synthesis trainee cohort. Your heart and hard work has come thru in so many beautiful ways. I appreciate the level of care you put into the true development of ethical practitioners not just in factually educating professionals. I anticipated this as a pivot point professionally. What I didn’t anticipate is how this has been a pivot point in my relationship with my self. So much gratitude. I feel like the container created, on a smaller scale, is what I will be striving for. The facilitators’ presence in equanimity and gentle loving supportive check in thru ceremony feels like my practitioner model to follow

A sublime experience - exquisite attention to detail and wonderful facilitator energy
The attention to detail was truly exquisite. Everything from being personally escorted to our rooms that first day, the fresh flowers, candles, teas, music selections, comfortable mats, etc... to the wonderful energy of each of the facilitators. It was a sublime experience. The Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training program was an excellent experience - beyond my expectations. The material offered was comprehensive, and the relationships formed in our pod group will continue after the program. Definitely worth the time and financial investment!

Far exceeded my expectations and opened my mind in new and exciting ways
I attended a retreat with Synthesis in July 2019 and it has a significant positive impact on my life. I cannot recommend the experience and the team highly enough. I was both curious and apprehensive to experience psilocybin to help me make peace with some past issues and also give me some inspiration for the future. The whole process from my first call with them all the way through to after the retreat exceeded my expectations. The actual retreat centre itself is really unique and beautiful and the rooms are really luxurious. The sauna is a real treat too! I felt so safe and guided through the actual psychedelics experience with medical and emotional support available throughout the whole thing. I had no idea what psychedelics could help me access and I feel like with the support I received from Synthesis, I’m entering the world with a whole new perspective on myself and my life. Deep and rich educational experience

The synthesis learning will stay with me as a guide and resource centre for a long time to come, perhaps or even probably lifelong. The assignments were practical and thoughtful in the way they built on each module of learning. I found the curriculum, with its monthly focus on each area of psychedelic facilitation practice through each of the four lenses, provided me with an enjoyable and reliable cadence. The content was so rich and diverse, generously delivered by such different wise, experienced people, and considerate of many different perspectives that I felt it was expanding not only my understanding but also my toolbox of things to use straight away as well as learn more about. As the year progressed I felt more confident in describing my place in this field, where I have come from, where I may be headed and how my world today integrates with that. There was no pressure to perform or know, in fact the invitation was to remain as long as I wanted to be in liminality for all that could be learned and experienced there. I feel I have worked alongside and become more part of a network of professionals who care about what is most important - safety, ethics, keeping the dialogue open and reciprocity, amongst other things. It really has been a wonderful learning experience, which has expanded my repertoire and skills. Thank you

Immersion Training Retreat

I was part of the Synthesis Immersion Training Retreat as part of my co-facilitator training April 26 - May 3 at the New Eden Retreat Center. Lesley, Hanneke and Léla were the guides. I consider myself extremely privileged to have been an active witness as well as participant. Lesley embodies what she teaches. Her knowledge, experience and skills were displayed in so many wonderful ways. Her calm and grounded ways and her gentle approach create an incredible sense of trust. Lesley reminds me of a light tower, firmly grounded, calmly sending its light to the ships to help them nagivate challenging waters. Thank you Lesley, I learned so much.

Hanneke's lively ways, her authentic and honest approach, her masterful ways of dealing with a challenging situation, will always be remembered. Hanneke also lead the 1:1 interviews with me. I very much appreciated her direct approach, her way of challenging my thinking and assumptions, and her support with a special request. Hanneke's 'make a deal and stick to it' and 'sometimes you are water and sometimes you are a rock' will stay with me. I am grateful for everything.

Immersion Training Retreat

Skilfully facilitated, safe, transformative, and playful.

This was my 2nd retreat with Synthesis. I have been working with psychedelics/plant medicines in intentional settings for around 4 years, and recreationally for around 15 years. I would recommend Synthesis retreats for anyone new to psychedelics, as well as more experienced journeyers who are curious to explore their relationship with medicine in a different than might be found in underground or indigenous contexts. The facilitation team are highly skilled, holding perhaps the safest container I have experienced on a retreat. They're also loving, warm, down to earth people who are just as committed to connecting with the group as they are facilitating the journey itself. The retreat centre is so cosy, and situated in the middle of woodland. It's a very soothing place to be, and the food is the best I've ever had on any retreat (genuinely mind blowing!!!). One of the most valuable aspects of the retreat was how well rounded and diverse the shared palette of skills, practices, experience and worldviews of our facilitators was. Between them, we had the support, perspective, and holding of a psychotherapist with specialist training in psychedelic work; a practitioner with direct and ongoing training in indigenous medicine traditions; and a third practitioner with a foundation in a range of meditative practices, in academia relevant to this work, and having extensive personal experience with various medicines. This range informed a deep and rich preparation, journeying, and integration, offering us many ways of relating to our experiences beyond just the word. Thanks to this approach I have been able to explore my subjective as well as and the group dynamic, through movement, sound, meditation, breathwork, creative expression, and of course psychedelics. I'm a student with The Synthesis Institute and I have now journeyed as a participant, as well as in an apprenticing role. I highly recommend Synthesis retreats for anyone curious to explore intentionally with psychedelics in a safe environment, guided by experienced, caring, and skilled practitioners. And I highly recommend their training to any aspiring practitioners - I have found it to be thorough, inspiring, and very nurturing to my journey along this path.

Comprehensive Full Package

The Immersion program by The Synthesis Institute is a comprehensive program encompassing a multi-day stay in a very quiet and peaceful place with lots of options to realx and become grounded. The food is very tasty and healthy (thank you Tara!), but most importantly the staff and the program are really sophisticated and helped me in my healing process. The program was designed by the most leading academic institutions but also traditional elemts haven been implemented. Receiving the space to come into my fullness

Synthesis Immersion retreat was nothing but exceptional. The attention to detail and scheduling gave enough structure and freedom to move freely with the insights that were offered through the multiple ceremonies. Each facilitator brought such a unique strength and presence to the space and everything was orchestrated in perfect harmony. Having music be the main guiding force during the ceremonies was breathtaking and it provided so much wealth and allowance to navigate the energies moving throughout not only the ceremony room but throughout the New Eden space and through each participant and facilitator. I went into this experience with no expectations and with the intention to learn more about how to be more of service moving forward and I received so much teaching, guidance and support by everyone involved. What a state of the art experience and I will truly cherish it for forever.

It can't get better than this

I spent a week at a psychedelic retreat in Costa Rica, and it was pure paradise. Every day we swam in clear waterfalls and walked through lush green jungle. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us with real care and respect. The guides were skilled and kind, making every ceremony feel safe and meaningful. Most of all, the other guests felt like instant friends. Beautiful nature, great people, tasty meals—this retreat gave me healing and happiness. It really couldn’t have been better.

Five Stars: well supported

The surrounding jungle, wildlife and waterfalls were powerful support for me throughout the week. Our facilitators were mindful, gifted with wisdom and music so personal that the experience felt orchestrated for my best interest. I experienced an intentional layering of preparation that felt like being surrounded by goodness. The food was outstanding. The accommodations a bit rustic but clean and very close to nature. 'Exceptional' does not adequately describe my experience

From my first interaction over Zoom, Synthesis gave me much more than I ever expected. This is a 6-week retreat. The Integrative Zoom sessions before and after the 5-day in-person experience are important and powerful. I did not expect that this entire retreat was so deeply inclined towards meditation and a spiritual journey. There was much power and transformation that occurred even outside the 2 'Ceremonies'. As well, the facilitators gave care and respect for my personal journey. Helping me, but always allowing me to find my own path. If you are undecided if the Medicine is right for you, I very much recommend that you reach out and have a discussion with Synthesis. Come with an open mind and leave with an expanded Heart :)

Immersion Apprenticeship Retreat

This summer, I had the privilege of attending the immersion retreat from Synthesis in the Netherlands as an apprentice. Fantastic!!!

I attended the Synthesis Immersion Retreat as both a student and a participant. The facilitators were top notch in every way: highly experienced in indigenous and western medicine traditions, live music as well as playlists, breath work, compassionate caretakers, deeply present to each of us. Their teaching was clear and relevant. I learned so much about facilitating medicine journeys, and I also dived deep into my own journeys. In addition, the location is gorgeous. My only complaint is that the tents were so hot during the day (nights were fine), even though they were air conditioned, that you really couldn't hang out in there. But no problem because there are lots of beautiful spaces to hang out by yourself or with others. The waterfalls are fantastic, and fun getaways from the "work." Food was amazing, and the chefs were so friendly and always committed to meeting any special dietary needs. I highly recommend this retreat.

Exceptional facilitators: a magnificent retreat experience of togetherness, growth, and profound inspiration

Exceptional. Marvelous. Even though I didn’t know the majority of the megapode facilitators before the retreat, I felt almost immediately at home with them. They proved an enormous resource throughout the retreat. Their teamwork was a remarkable model for me going forward as well. I felt supported, held, and given space to grow in my own way. Magnificent! The experience of being TOGETHER was even more mind-blowing than I’d expected. I already knew that this was an extraordinary group of people — but I had no idea of the extent to which that was true until we were physically together in one place. The openness, attentiveness, attunement, intelligence. and gentleness of the staff was extraordinary. On how the Immersion informed one’s personal practice: “I feel an even greater draw than usual to slow down, spend time in nature, and give myself space to breathe. The conversations I had with both fellow participants and staff will be influencing my personal practice and my outlook on life for a long while. The experiences of the retreat went very deep indeed. Everyone was super-helpful, respectful, and friendly. Couldn’t ask for better.

Synthesis embodyies the commitment to wholeness

I would emphasise how the different lenses all worked to inform each other and therefore made the overall offering richer. I would also talk about how Synthesis has consistently promoted the value of "walking the walk", so not just lip-service, but the actual lived embodied commitment to our own wholeness; only then can we be taken seriously to facilitate someone else's journey towards wholeness.

Exceptional care, communitas, and profound personal growth - a life-changing retreat

It’s difficult to know quite where to start in describing how these days exceeded all my expectations. I have never been looked after as well on all levels. Like staying with your favourite grandmother with benefits. From the minute we arrived, I left welcomed, safe, held. The walk from taxi to room - guided and handed over between Synthesis staff.. I learnt so much about myself, to witness how to hold space in the most gentle and exquisite way, about the real meaning of communitas that has affected me at a cellular level and will stay with me forever. To experience such love and kinship - such understanding. I left forever changed. Forever grateful. Quite an exceptional group of people who clearly had incredible passion for the work. Staff almost floated at times. The way they held space, cared with lightness and compassion for those journeying and afterwards. The acts of kindness. For each and everyone of you. Thank you - including the amazing chefs and people who did our laundry.

Diverse lessons, brilliant facilitators, and transformative support

This training provided diverse and thorough lessons with excellent facilitators. The four lenses were beautifully blended within each track, one supporting the other. The amount of information seemed too much at time, yet it all worked, especially when there was enough time for pod meetings. The faculty is brilliant! The support (again, Courtney is the bomb) team were so helpful, especially with details around practicum and Immersion. And I cannot say enough about the learning mentors and the capacity they had to hold each pod member with such respect and care. I know more about myself as a practitioner because we all, as a larger cohort, supported each other and will continue to support each other through Immersion in The Netherlands. Thank you Synthesis. This was an amazing Journey - like the ceremony: it showed me what I needed and connected me with myself and others.

A Transformative Journey to Restore the Sacred and Create a More Beautiful World

How do we create a more beautiful world for our children? How do we restore the sacred that has been lost from our lives? How do we live lives of compassionate, loving kindness, grounded in our bodies, in traditions but also in all the precious knowledge that science offers? How do we live our lives as fully expressed individuals, while also being vital contributors to the societal networks? I went in to the psychedelic training with all these questions- and not only was I taught precious lessons but most importantly, I was SHOWN. That a more beautiful world IS possible, that the sacred CAN be restored. That we can have difficult, challenging experiences, and still be held in calm, loving, kindness. What the people at Synthesis have created is the most profound, exquisitely beautiful experience of my life, that has opened up hope and unlimited possibilities for me and my family.

Impeccable facilitators create a safe space for profound growth and connection with nature

Wow. That's what I've been saying to myself since returning home. The Immersion was beyond anything I could have imagined, and my feelings are exclusive from the actual journeys themselves. The impeccability of each team member, the way they all held the same nurturing space for us, and the way they made each of us feel safety in the unknown was like a beautiful rhythm. I feel like I learned so much from watching them. It was like watching a beautiful dance. The care that was put into this immersion so we could each have such a beautiful experience moves me to tears. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. <3 I'm finding hard to put into words the way these beautiful souls held space for us. Almost immediately, a safe space was established, which allowed all of us to open up to a truly vulnerable state prior to our ceremonies. There was no favoritism, and I don't feel anyone felt neglected in any way. I know I didn't. We all had the same opportunities to be heard and to be supported. I don't know what the other pods were like, but I felt truly held by mine. I LOVED the nature walks (both facilitated and on my own). The venue was such a lovely place to explore. I especially loved the "Integration through Nature'' sessions after our large journey. When we were asked to bring back a piece of nature to the group, I found myself taking in and really 'seeing' nature from a different lens. I saw the living, breathing organism that nature is. I 'saw' the mycelium as the lifeblood feeding the forest. I saw the leaves on the trees as solar panels. I saw the dead, decay, and fungi themselves as the lymphatic system, carrying away the old to make room for the new. Always re-birthing. Always continuing on. Such a metaphor. As much time as I've spent in nature in my life, I was surprised that I now see it in such a different light. My relationship with Mother Earth is forever changed. I loved the opportunities to work with members of the other two pods that were with us. I loved the role-playing we did with each other, and the way it sparked conversation. Whoa. Who knew that the 'witnessing' would end up being a peak experience for me? Unbelievable. What an absolute honor and privilege to be able to see this unfold. I took my journal with me on the day I was a witness, thinking I'd have plenty of time to jot down some thoughts or insights. I never once opened my journal. I was just GLUED to this beautiful experience. As I watched my fellow classmates have their own experiences, I feel like I saw each of them in another light. A divine light. It was almost as if I had the privilege of watching someone leave this world through the death process, only to then watch them again re-birth themselves. Just like a miracle.

A transformative pivot point in self-relationship and professional development within a beautiful, authentic container of care and communitas

Your thought, planning and care that went into the holding space for every individual and creation of communitas was very evident. It created a beautiful container making it easy to safely sink into authenticity. It feels clear that this is a deeply shared value and the Synthesis team that I interacted with seek to live into this themselves. I feel incredibly fortunate to be within the first Synthesis trainee cohort. Your heart and hard work has come thru in so many beautiful ways. I appreciate the level of care you put into the true development of ethical practitioners not just in factually educating professionals. I anticipated this as a pivot point professionally. What I didn’t anticipate is how this has been a pivot point in my relationship with my self. So much gratitude. I feel like the container created, on a smaller scale, is what I will be striving for. The facilitators’ presence in equanimity and gentle loving supportive check in thru ceremony feels like my practitioner model to follow

A sublime experience - exquisite attention to detail and wonderful facilitator energy

The attention to detail was truly exquisite. Everything from being personally escorted to our rooms that first day, the fresh flowers, candles, teas, music selections, comfortable mats, etc... to the wonderful energy of each of the facilitators. It was a sublime experience. The Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training program was an excellent experience - beyond my expectations. The material offered was comprehensive, and the relationships formed in our pod group will continue after the program. Definitely worth the time and financial investment!

Far exceeded my expectations and opened my mind in new and exciting ways

I attended a retreat with Synthesis in July 2019 and it has a significant positive impact on my life. I cannot recommend the experience and the team highly enough. I was both curious and apprehensive to experience psilocybin to help me make peace with some past issues and also give me some inspiration for the future. The whole process from my first call with them all the way through to after the retreat exceeded my expectations. The actual retreat centre itself is really unique and beautiful and the rooms are really luxurious. The sauna is a real treat too! I felt so safe and guided through the actual psychedelics experience with medical and emotional support available throughout the whole thing. I had no idea what psychedelics could help me access and I feel like with the support I received from Synthesis, I’m entering the world with a whole new perspective on myself and my life. Thank you so much - I’ll be back soon!
